Originally from Fiji, Ilaisa moved to Christchurch in 1999. Ilaisa’s career in architectural design began as a graduate, developing skills in ArchiCAD/Revit and project management software, drawing plans, and growing knowledge of NZ building and seismic standards. At Mike Greer Homes, he helped set up a new architectural working drawings department and developed detailed construction drawings and procedures for other designers to follow. He worked in a team of 10, mentoring and supporting them to ensure the highest levels of quality control for the company’s projects. Ilaisa has been involved in the design and build of over 1100 properties and large-scale apartment complexes up to 18 units. He has also worked on projects throughout the South Island and Auckland further expanding his experience and knowledge of the industry. This includes preparing repair and rebuild plans and drawings of earthquake-damaged houses in Christchurch to consent stage using CAD software, as well as collaborating with Architects on varying project sizes. Ilaisa was one of the three founding directors of Choice Architecture in North Canterbury, before moving to Selwyn to create ID Architecture.

Ilaisa has completed more than 400 property designs for ID Architecture. He is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience in the industry. As senior architectural designer and owner of ID Architecture, he plays a critical role in the company’s success and growth. His keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence enables him to work closely with clients to ensure their vision is brought to life through high-quality design solutions. He has a strong understanding of costs, materials, and building regulations, and uses this knowledge to prepare detailed drawings and specifications for projects. His recent projects include new residential, refurbishments, light commercial, as well as project management from design through to build, and compliance with the regulatory environment. He takes pride in delivering designs that meet and exceed client expectations, achieving results within budget and on time.
